USA TODAYA New York firefighter’s 4-month daughter has died of coronavirus, according to her family.Jerel and Lindsey La Santa’s daughter, Jay-Natalie, died Monday after spending a month in the hospital after developing a fever, ABC News and NBC News report. Born in November, the same month her father was appointed to the FDNY, she would have been 5-months-old on April 27. “Jay-Natalie had everybody wrapped around her finger,” said her grandmother, Wanda La Santa, to NBC News. “Whatever Jay-Natalie wanted, she got.”According to NBC News, Jay-Natalie, who was born with a heart condition, was hospitalized last month after getting a fever. She initially tested negative for coronavirus. After a week in the hospital, however, she was retested and the result was positive.Known as the “warrior princess,” according to an Instagram post by the FDNY Hispanic Society, she had a “fighting spirit” through her battle with COVID-19.
