USA TODAYRita Wilson is getting out and about as much as she can in a coronavirus world. The singer, 63, has been making the virtual rounds since she announced her recovery from COVID-19. Wilson and husband Tom Hanks were both diagnosed a month ago with the novel virus while in Australia, and have since returned home to Los Angeles. Since her homecoming, Wilson has kept busy, singing the “The Star-Spangled Banner” for a virtual NASCAR race on Fox Sunday. Filmed at her LA home by 24-year-old son Truman Hanks, according to NASCAR announcers Mike Joy and Jeff Gordon, Wilson offered a soulful rendition of the national anthem before the broadcast of the third social distance NASCAR race so far. Due to the pandemic the regular NASCAR season has been suspended, but drivers are racing via simulators, not unlike arcade games. Wilson will also appear on CMT Wednesday (8 p.m. ET/PT) for “CMT GIANTS Kenny Rogers: A Benefit For MusiCares,” the network announced Monday.
